How much does it cost to build a new home in NZ?
A typical house can cost anywhere from $250,000, however to get an accurate quote there are many factors involved. As a very rough starting point, $2,500-3,000 m2 is standard and then anything beyond 3,000 m2 is considered a custom build, requiring custom pricing. Whatever your budget, talk to Precise Builders, as we are committed to building your dream home - exactly the way you envisaged it.
Will Precise Builders stick to my budget?
Absolutely! We will work with you to find the best designs and materials that fit your budget. In order to begin, a detailed scope of works will be provided and we will not begin the work, until the plans are approved by you. If at any stage an unforeseen change should occur, we will discuss this with you and endeavour to find a solution that suits your budget.
What are Precise Builders' payment terms?
Payment is appreciated 7 days after the dated invoice and all accounts are invoiced monthly.
How much does it cost to renovate?
The prices of renovation will vary depending on what you are aiming for and how big the project is. We are happy to have a comprehensive consultation with you to discuss the size and pricing of your project, before initiating any work. We work closely with clients to make sure they can achieve their building goals without breaking their budget.
We do recommend speaking with your bank first to know the budget you have to work with.
What size is the average house in New Zealand?
In recent years, New Zealand dwellings have been getting larger. The average floor area per dwelling gradually increased from the 1990s to a peak of around 200 m2 in 2010, before falling back to around 160 m2 for dwellings consented in 2019.
Is it better to buy or renovate an existing house in NZ?
If you want to save money, renovating an existing house can be a great option. The costs are usually more predictable because there is no need to purchase land and construction fees are typically less in renovation projects.
In contrast, one of the big drivers of interest in new-build properties recently has been that it is easier to get a loan for them. Throughout most of the country, building new is more expensive than buying an existing property, however the loan-to-value restrictions that limit bank lending to low-deposit borrowers do not apply to new homes.
How long will it take to build my new build home in Tauranga?
It can take anywhere from six months depending on the size and type of house you are building. Here at Precise Builders, we build homes of high craftsmanship and quality. Good things take time - and we will give you a reasonable and accurate deadline for your project during the planning phase. As a driven team, we do our best to stick to the agreed deadline.
How big is a standard New Zealand outdoor area?
In 2018, nationally, 84.5 percent of people lived in homes with their own garden (outside of Auckland). This shows how much Kiwi's value outdoor space (we certainly do). If you want to try and maximize your indoor-outdoor living space or build a new deck, get in touch with us today.
Which communication channels do Precise Builders use to keep us updated during our build process?
Precise Builders will be in touch with you on a weekly basis with regular face to face meetings onsite. We also have a project management system that we use for larger renovations and all new builds.
